A blood red, crisp, early-season, tangy, dessert apple from Japan.
Small to medium-sized fruit, flat-rounded, with a deep red skin.
Juicy and crisp with a slight strawberry flavour. Tangy until very ripe, when it sweetens. Keeps its flavour and shape when cooked.
A great feature of Akane is that he fruit hangs on the tree for weeks, allowing a very long picking period.
Akane is a low-vigour, healthy tree, and a reliable cropper.

Trees and plants can be delivered to your door (rates will be calculated at checkout based on the number of plants you purchase) or you can pick up for no fee - in which case we will email when ready to pick up and you will have 7 days to do so.
